AutoHunter Spotlight: 1961 Chevrolet Corvette

Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a restored 1961 Chevrolet Corvette that features an upgraded interior and a replacement 350cid V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

“For the final two model years of the Corvette’s first generation in 1961 and 1962, the rear of the car wore a redesign which incorporated quad taillights and a ‘ducktail’ aesthetic,’ AutoHunter shares in the C1’s listing.

This 1961 example is finished in red with white coves and accented with brightwork in the form of front and rear bumpers, cove moldings, window trim, door handles and exhaust systems.

According to the seller, the white retractable soft top with a plastic rear window had been reupholstered.

The interior has been reupholstered in a dark red leather with Corvette silhouette embroidered logos in the backrests. Updates include an aftermarket leather-wrapped steering wheel and modern stereo.

Under the hood, the 350cid V8 engine is outfitted with Chevrolet bowtie-branded valve covers, aluminum heads, Edelbrock Pro-Flo electronic fuel injection system and an aluminum radiator.
